Overview/Description

.......of the various aspects of the Area of Awareness
Here is one definition of Global Awareness. Using 21st century knowledge to understand better and tell others about world wide problems.

My area of awareness is Global Awareness and in this section we learn about technology and cultures from all over the world. Technology helps us learn about various cultures and we should take advantage of it. People all over the world communicate through video chat, facebook, myspace and so own!

Background**

.......of the Area of Awareness including specific real examples

Globally Aware students know that technology connects different countries and people all over the world. Technology allows there to be a global economy, this economy has influence on political decisions. Globally aware students know that cultural differences effect how a person participates globally. They take part in the global society by communicating with people from other cultures and countries. This information connects to global awareness because these are all things that a student who is globally aware would do or be. [2]

The Internet has broken many barriers. Some examples of the barriers broken are distance and languages. Conversation helps others understand more about the world. Internet helps us make conversations and so does the iEARN project. The iEARN project connects people all around the world, which is what Global Awareness is about.

Social / ethical aspects

.....of the Area of Awareness including how real people and communities have been positively or negatively affected

Our educators need to think above education to help their students grow up to be good citizens. In the future more people will be using the Internet at home and at schools. In the U.S. we have many different kinds of technology. It would be impossible for all of it t be distrbutited around the world.[4]

Learning ethical use of the world is important because when its online it is global when it is global if its through a public server or wwebsite anyone can see it. Its hard to wrap around your head but you are not the only one on a site there could be millions or more that you dont know about. If the site is private it still could be the case.

Possible solutions

.....what are the problems that have emerged to do with this Area of Awareness and what are some solutions? Other Countrys dealling with chrisis moments like haiti and Global awarness make sure the rest of the world is aware so we can help out. A solution is to make a website to help the problem like a donation website were the world can all join in on this adventure.

Technology brings educational levels around the world together. Everyone needs to work together to make a good study course, which includes learning different cultures and teaching students how they can help other countries with their chrisis moments. With the use of technology, they can now study more of the world. Technology helps us learn about various cultures. High school world history mainly studies European and western history, but thanks to technology they can now study almost all regions of the world. //[6]
